We recently partnered with the City of Sydney as a major sponsor of the Chinese New Year Festival. The festival, featuring performances, markets and cultural tours held over a three week period, is the largest celebration of its kind outside of Asia.
This festival is a celebration of the richness and diversity of Asian culture in this great city and we are very proud to be part of this exciting event for the first time in 2009.
The first major event of the festival was the Chinese New Year Markets @ Belmore Park. Our team at the Asian Home Gourmet stand was certainly kept busy (even on the Saturday when the temperature was a very Bangkok -like 42 degrees)!
And while they are getting busy at the stand, our presenters were cooking up a storm at the theatre kitchen, where the flavours and aromas of our Thai green curry, Thai red curry and Singapore Laksa recipes were showcased to hundreds of revellers.
Here’s Janus, presenter from TVBA (Australia’s leading Chinese TV station) and our presenter for the day, with the red curry she whipped up in less than 5 minutes and gobbled up by the team in less time than that. Wouldn’t it be great if we can also share the fragrance and taste of this over the internet……
